100908 new family memberI should definitely be asleep right now. I slept around 11pm for two or three hours, and i've been alert since 130am. That cannot be good. I'm going to bed as soon as I finish writing to you.If you are a regular reader, you will assume that our new family member is a raccoon. In a way, that isn't far from the truth. The littlest friendliest one broke in to the house today. It worked at the side window until it got it open, and found itself trapped in the mechanical room. But a raccoon is never really trapped, especially if the walls are made from soft things like gyproc. I started to panic when it was working the holes bigger. They are so very smart. I tried to get GF's help, but she was indisposed. I kept my apartment door pulled tight, and let the sweetie into the foyer with the stairs. It kept asking politely for food, but not after a break in. I had a metal pipe from a vaccuum cleaner, and used it to urge the fella out the door. I didn't hit it or yell, but just kept guiding it gently out. We found the lock for the window in the mechanical room, and with some good luck, that should keep my furry friend out. So who is our new family member? The humane society called him Smores. He's a dutch rabbit, I think. I don't like the name, and it will get a better one when we can think about that. One of the doctors upstairs is Morris, and calling the bunny Morris would be cute. Maybe. Click the image to load a progressively larger image. |
